Cross on skis when the mountain permits
Check the international link, weather and final lifts before heading towards the French side. Continue to monitor operations: wind can change the position during the day.
Keep a wide margin and adapt the route to the group. La Rosière deserves time, but never at the cost of an uncertain return.
The mountain pass is a different journey
The Little St Bernard road follows a seasonal closure and its own conditions. An open ski connection does not mean the road is passable.
Use official road information before considering a drive and do not rely on a mapping app alone.
Documents and useful time
Carry valid documents for every traveller and check any insurance or roaming implications. They are simple details that prevent needless interruptions.
For a non-ski visit, plan the road journey only when the pass is open and allow more than enough time to return.
