There is more than one Rutor walk
Starting point, chosen stage, ascent and duration all change the day. Identify the objective on the regional map before following a route discovered on social media.
Choose for the least experienced participant and keep energy for the descent. Reaching an intermediate point may already make a complete day.
Near the water, distance matters
Rain, residual snow and water levels can make the surface slippery or alter conditions. Stay on the trail, respect barriers and never trade safety for a photograph.
Suitable footwear and concentration on the return are essential, especially when the ground is wet.
The ascent is only half the time
Pauses, crowds and available light belong in the calculation. Set a turnaround time before leaving and reduce the objective when conditions change.
With children or anyone unused to ascent, read the official description for the selected section and assess the group without pressure.
